VIDEO: Steph Curry Responds to Maverick Carter's Critique of His Defense
By Scott Rogust

Just because the NBA is on hold doesn't mean the drama will stop. Maverick Carter, a businessman and associate of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, criticized the defensive abilities of Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry this week, blasphemously going as far to say that he could score on Curry. These kinds of nonsensical LaVar Ball-type claims aren't worth the attention, but Curry did talk about it with Chris "COSeezy" Strachan on Wednesday evening...without even mentioning Carter's name.
Steph Curry responds to Mav Carter's comments on his defense:

"You doing something great no matter what it is, they're coming for you... People who actually know what they're talking about they're gonna speak facts & truth."

Curry even went as far to say that Carter using his name to get attention makes him "look stupid." He's not lying in that assessment.
All this drama transpired once Carter spoke with Curry's teammate, Draymond Green, on Uninterrupted about ESPN's documentary, "The Last Dance." Carter discussed how much Michael Jordan needed Scottie Pippen on the court to succeed at the start of the 1997-98 season. That was when Carter turned his attention to Curry, saying that he can only play defense well enough if Green and Klay Thompson were on the court with him.
“The world knows Steph can't f--king play defense. I'm 38 and haven't played a decent game of basketball in 18 years. Steph would have trouble guarding me.”

Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That's commonplace in sports. But given that Carter works so closely with LeBron shows hints of a hidden agenda. Don't forget, Curry's Warriors beat James' Cleveland Cavaliers three times in their four meetings in the NBA Finals. Bad blood? We think so.
If Carter claps back, there's only one logical way to settle this: a one-on-one battle on the hardwood...once we're all allowed to return to normalcy.
