Stephen A. Smith May Have Recruited Patrick Mahomes for NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is living his best life. He spent Wednesday in a wild Super Bowl parade just days after officially becoming a legend in the city that now worships him.
His next move may be an appearance in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. He voiced his desire to play in the game Wednesday night after the rosters were revealed.

Mahomes' name was nowhere to be found on the initial 14-man rosters, but that didn't stop head coach Stephen A. Smith from showcasing some masterful recruiting tactics.
I heard you were looking for me, my man @PatrickMahomes. It would be my honor to have the best player in the NFL — and the Super Bowl MVP — on my team. Just reach out to @chantrec for details. She’ll take care of this.

ESPN and the NBA would have no reason to turn down this request. Mahomes would add serious star power to a game already featuring hip hop stars Chance the Rapper and Common as captains.
While this sounds good and well, it's certainly worth noting that after appearing in a pickup basketball game last season, Chiefs GM Brett Veach ordered the star quarterback to "nip that in the bud."
Seeing Mahomes on the hardwood would be a treat for all NBA and NFL fans, and would certainly add to the allure of the All-Star Celebrity Game, however, the Chiefs may not be quite so thrilled by the idea.
