VIDEO: Stephen A. Smith Torches Modern LeBron Fans After Michael Jordan's 'The Last Dance' Debuts
By Adam Weinrib
ESPN's 10-part documentary, "The Last Dance," about Michael Jordan's career and through the lens of his final season in Chicago, is both a welcome respite in the middle of a sports desert and a tremendous force in the Michael Jordan propaganda department. Count Stephen A. Smith among those "MJ is King" talking heads who's been energized by the recently unearthed footage. SAS launched into a fiery rant against sensitive LeBron fans who take "second-best" as an insult on Monday morning, and it was a sight to behold.
"They can kick rocks. Adopt the Mamba Mentality," Stephen A. said about millennials who feel like invoking the MJ-Bron debate, before going into his well-seasoned patter.
"This generation is just softer," he continued, and then spewed the all-too-accurate quote above.
In fairness, SAS made a big show out of how little he cares about how much YOU care about his opinion, all before...spiraling into a defense of his opinion, while seeking to infantilize those who think LeBron deserves a fair shake. A little hypocrisy there, but other than that, it was the exact trademark bluster we expect from the king of morning sports shows.
With all due respect...we're fairly certain we can expect similar Stephen A. sessions for the next four consecutive Mondays, too.
