Steve Kerr Reveals Draymond Green Has Torn Ligaments in Thumb as Warriors' Injuries Keep Piling on
By Jerry Trotta
The 2019-20 NBA season might be less than two weeks old, but it's already become evident that the Golden State Warriors won't be making much, if any, noise.
Klay Thompson is likely going to miss the entire year while he recovers from offseason ACL surgery and Stephen Curry is expected to miss at least three months after it was announced that he fractured his hand.
You would think things couldn't get much worse, but naturally they did on Saturday as Steve Kerr disclosed that Draymond Green is combatting torn ligaments in his left hand.
Green suffered the injury during Friday's loss to the San Antonio Spurs, and as it stands, he will miss at least the next few games, though Kerr asserted he will rest his All-Star until he is fully healthy to avoid risking further damage.
Kerr even went a step further to state that Green will be on a minutes limit once he returns to the hardwood. If that's not a head coach subliminally hinting that his side is tanking, which they absolutely should given their non-existent potential this campaign, we don't know what is.
This has to be rock bottom, no? With D'Angelo Russell also dealing with an ankle ailment, regardless of its severity, the Warriors now have four All-Stars shelved with injuries just FIVE games into the new season.
It's hard to sympathize with a team that has won three of the last five NBA championships, but they are suffering through a stretch of (awful) luck that you simply wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy.
