Steve Kerr Saying He'll Rest Draymond Green Sure Makes it Seem Like They're Tanking

The Golden State Warriors are only five games into an 82-game season, but they already look destined for the lottery, especially since Stephen Curry will miss at least three months with a broken hand.

Now that Draymond Green is dealing with an injured finger he suffered on Friday, head coach Steve Kerr wanted to make it clear that they aren't going to run him into the ground from a minutes standpoint.

That could be interpreted as the Warriors giving in to the tank, even though Joe Lacob insists they would never do so. But really, what executive other than Sam Hinkie openly admits such a thing?

In the end, this might be the smartest thing for the Warriors. They don't have the same caliber of roster they once did, full of top-tier talent, and with the injuries they've already suffered to a team that doesn't have much depth, they're going to lose a lot no matter who plays.

So, limiting the workload of someone as important as Green, who's been part of this entire run of excellence, could pay off when next season roles around.
