Tarik Cohen Says Matt Nagy Shows Bears Replay of Devastating Playoff Loss as Motivation
By Scott Rogust
The Chicago Bears were perennial Super Bowl favorites last season, thanks in part to their stifling defense and explosive offense. However, their potential playoff run came to an end at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles, after Cody Parkey's infamous missed field goal attempt.
It was a heartbreaking moment for the Bears and their fans that stung for the better part of the new year. Yet, Chicago head coach Matt Nagy won't let this Bears team forget about it.
According to running back Tarik Cohen, Nagy shows the final seconds of their NFC Wild Card game during team meetings.
A painful reminder by Nagy, but he's doing so in order to motivate the Bears roster to playing harder than they did last season, to ensure games don't come down to a final kick attempt, and to remind them of the pain they never again wish to experience.
Chicago enters the 2019 season with relatively the same roster, including some major additions via free agency and the NFL Draft. As a result, they are once again viewed among the favorites to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LIV.
In order to ensure the Chicago Bears live up to their lofty expectations, Matt Nagy is providing them with a proverbial kick in the butt with a daily reminder of last season's playoff defeat.
