Greg Olsen Hoping for Potential Reunion With Bears in Free Agency
By Evan Wolff
With the talents of George Kittle and Travis Kelce on full display in the Super Bowl on Sunday, plenty of teams could be tempted to bolster the talents of their tight end rooms this offseason in hopes of capturing similar magic. It became clear that having a talented receiving corps includes the luxury of having a tight end (or two) who can create mismatches and crucial first downs.
One tight end who recently became available on the market? Greg Olsen. The future Hall of Famer departed the Carolina Panthers after they made a head coaching change, and while he has already received reported interest from Washington and his old coach Ron Rivera, there is one team in particular he wishes to hear from.
Olsen began career as a first-round pick for the Chicago Bears back in 2007 and spent four seasons in the midwest as a fan favorite. The Bears ought to be craving any offensive threat they can possibly add at the moment given their disappointing 2019 season. They could do worse than picking up the phone.
They surely still have Olsen's number.
For General Manger Ryan Pace to not engage in a conversation seems questionable at best. Olsen may be in the twilight of his career, but it's hard to imagine the fans in ChiTown objecting to his addition.
