Teams Reportedly Calling Texans for Longshot DeAndre Hopkins Trade
By Michael Luciano
If you were to take Jay Glazer at his word, rival NFL GMs believe that the best wide receiver in the league could be on the market.
Per FOX's insider, several teams have contacted the Houston Texans over a potential trade for superstar wideout DeAndre Hopkins. Nuk, 27, is in the second year of a five-year, $81 million contract extension.
There's shooting your shot, and then there's whatever this is. Still, the Texans don't have a GM, so you never know what they'll take.
The Texans might need to move some players to recoup the arsenal of draft picks they sent elsewhere for players like Laremy Tunsil and Gareon Conley, but trading Hopkins, who has 49 catches this year for 508 yards and three touchdowns, is not going to be the way they get those picks back, presuming everything in H-Town is somewhat stable.
A Hopkins trade would be paradigm-shifting and likely cause riots in the state of Texas, but this has about an 0.1 percent chance of happening. It's the NFL equivalent of DM-ing Charlize Theron.
