Titans Sign QB Ryan Tannehill to Contract Extension After Breakout 2019 Season
By Michael Luciano

The Tennessee Titans resisted the urge to go after Tom Brady in free agency, instead choosing to bring back 2019 standout Ryan Tannehill as they look to stay in contention in the AFC.
Tannehill reportedly agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the Titans after seizing the starting quarterback job in the middle of last season and taking the team on an impressive run.

A former No. 8 overall pick out of Texas A&M, Tannehill was let go after seven years with the Miami Dolphins. In Nashville, he overtook Marcus Mariota as the starter and proceeded to go 9-4 over the course of the season.
Tannehill, who completed 70% of his passes while leading the NFL in passer rating, yards per attempt, and yards per completion in 2019, helped defeat both the Patriots and Ravens in the playoffs in upset fashion. His chemistry with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith is a big reason why he was retained this season.
Ryan Tannehill has agreed to terms on a new four-year contract with the Titans, per source. Here’s the numbers:

BIG deal for Tannehill!
That's a lot of dough.
The Titans still need to find a way to bring Derrick Henry back into the fold, but it's a very encouraging sign that Tennessee was able to retain their breakout star. Look for Tannehill to carry his standout performances in 2019 over to the next decade in Nashville.
