Terrell Owens Scoffs at Idea of Reconciling With Donovan McNabb During COVID-19 Crisis
By Michael Luciano
One of the great sports feuds of the early 2000s, the beef between former Philadelphia Eagles stars Terrell Owens and Donovan McNabb is still very much alive.
When a Philadelphia reporter suggested that Owens and McNabb reconcile via video chat due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Owens shot that down with an emphatic, "Absolutely not."
"I really considered him a friend, a teammate at one point in time," Owens said. "Over the years, I think the relationship has deteriorated to the point to where right now, I just don't care anymore."
Owens played in just 21 regular season games as an Eagle, but they were so special that Eagles fans to this day remember TO fondly. With Andy Reid as the coach and McNabb at quarterback, Owens caught 20 touchdowns in those 21 games, while averaging an absurd 93.5 yards per game.
He also put up nine catches and 122 yards in the Super Bowl against a Bill Belichick defense, despite not fully recovering from a broken leg earlier in the season. Unfortunately, he couldn't stand McNabb for whatever reason, and that forced a move to Dallas.
No matter how good Owens was, there is a reason that some stubborn Hall of Fame voters didn't put him in on the first ballot, as Owens became known for his fiery personality just as much as he was for his stunning play on the field. Even after Owens picked up his gold jacket, he still has no interest in linking back up with McNabb.
