On Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made it official and parted ways with cornerback Vernon Hargreaves shortly after head coach Bruce Arians called him out for a lack of hustle.

Though he's underwhelmed since entering the NFL as the No.11 overall pick in 2016, it was largely expected that the 24-year-old DB would be scooped up on waivers before too long given his age and potential.

The Houston Texans did just that on Wednesday, and the move proves that HC Bill O'Brien is finally starting to show signs that he knows what he's doing.

Though we'll probably never forgive O'Brien for the historically-woeful trade that sent Jadeveon Clowney to Seattle for two second-stringers (all while agreeing to pay half of the star pass rusher's salary) this offseason, the 50-year-old coach has made some strides.

After Deshaun Watson spent most of 2018 running for his life in the backfield, O'Brien revamped Houston's offensive line. The most significant of those improvements came when the Texans traded for Dolphins star OT Laremy Tunsil just ahead of the start of 2019.

Another evident flaw of Houston in 2018 was their horrid secondary. Though they're still struggling as a group, O'Brien has attempted to address that problem with a series of moves, the most current of those being claiming Hargreaves off waivers.

O'Brien still has a ways to go when it comes to game and clock management, but his progress as it pertains to improving the Texans' roster cannot be understated.
