Deshaun Watson Tweeting Cryptic Drake Lyrics is Another Bad Sign for the Texans
By Jerry Trotta
After de facto Houston Texans general manager Bill O'Brien shamefully shipped superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals for pennies on the dollar, there's really no reason for quarterback Deshaun Watson to commit any more of his NFL career to the franchise.
Well, Watson may just be making his intentions with Houston known on social media. The 24-year-old stud took to Twitter on Monday to fire off a highly cryptic Drake lyric.
It's really impossible not to comprehend the parallels between the lyric and Watson's real life predicament. The Hopkins deal marks the second straight offseason that O'Brien offloaded one of his star players. Last year, the Texans were absolutely fleeced in a trade that sent defensive end Jadeveon Clowney to Seattle.
As expected, Watson appears to be growing sick of how fast Houston's core of world-beaters is crumbling.
Texans fans have every right to be concerned here. Watson is as humble and professional as they come, but sooner or later he's going to have to confront O'Brien and demand a trade. Why else do we think that the former No. 12 overall pick is the betting favorite to be the Patriots' starting QB in 2021?
Nobody knows what the future holds for Watson, but the two-time Pro Bowler cannot be enjoying life in Houston right now. His ambiguous tweet suggests that to be the case.
