Texans Got Fleeced in the Seahawks-Duane Brown Trade in Another Example of Houston's Awful Dealings

If you've been paying attention to the NFL this offseason, you already know Houston Texans head coach and GM Bill O'Brien is one of the most hated men in Texas by fans. He seemingly makes bad decisions as often as a senior citizen hitting the golf course in Florida.

O'Brien and bone-headed mistakes aren't anything new, though. In case you need a refresher, he signed off on the team sending standout offensive tackle Duane Brown to the Seattle Seahawks in October of 2017 and it proved to be a steal of a trade for the NFC West powerhouse.

With those picks, the Texans selected OL Martinas Rankin, who is no longer on the team, and Lonnie Johnson, who played 14 games in his rookie season last year.

That's all it took to land arguably one of the best offensive tackles in the league? Alrighty then, Bill! John Schneider simply had his way with the Texans in this deal. The fact that the Seahawks were also able to get a fifth-rounder from Houston here is comical. What was the front office thinking? Why did O'Brien let general manager Rick Smith do this? Brown is plenty happy in Seattle too, as he's since signed an extension with the organization.

If we've learned anything from O'Brien, it's that he doesn't know what he's doing. This offseason's trade involving DeAndre Hopkins was another one that blew us away.

You've got to feel for the Texans supporters. Time and time again they see clown moves being made by the front office.
