Texas Student Section Embarrassingly Empty Just Before Tipoff vs TCU

The Texas Longhorns basketball program has not lived up to expectations under Shaka Smart.
The team has not won an NCAA Tournament game under Smart since he took over in 2015. His squad is off to a 14-11 start this year and is a dismal 4-8 in Big 12 play. That has Smart's job in question and made for an embarrassingly low student turnout just minutes before Wednesday's game against TCU.

A picture like this could go a long way in the athletic department finally seeing that change is needed. The Texas program is too prestigious to have a handful of fans in attendance minutes before a conference game in February.

The student section wasn't the only sad turnout. Only the true diehards are in attendance and that is not something that can be ignored by Smart or his bosses. Win or lose, this is an awful sign for the program.
