The 2019-20 Warriors Are Pretty Much Auditioning for Bench Roles Next Season
By Jerry Trotta

When it rains, it pours, and right now the Golden State Warriors are caught in the eye of a hurricane, as they've been hit with a slew of injuries that are pretty much forcing Steve Kerr and the front office to punt this season.
With that being said, 2019-20 can still be viewed as as a positive in that the Dubs can identify which players filling in for the stars can assume a significant role off the bench next year.
It's fair to say that Villanova rookie Eric Paschall is leading that charge, as he's averaging 16.7 points and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 51.5% from the floor.
Eric Paschall is a major problem!

Let's take it back to last season's NBA finals matchup between Golden State and the Toronto Raptors. Kevin Durant (and eventually Klay Thompson) going down was obviously an irreplaceable loss, but after it became quite evident that the Warriors didn't flaunt the strong bench play that they used to a few years back.
This campaign will give Kerr and Co. a good indication of who can check into the game and not get blown off the court while one (or two) of Stephen Curry, Thompson, and D'Angelo Russell catches their breath.

Paschall, Alec Burks, Glenn Robinson, Damion Lee, and Willie Cauley-Stein, among others, now get a year-long chance prove to Kerr that they can contribute to a squad with championship aspirations.
If nothing else, Warriors fans can use this season to judge the potential of their makeshift rotation.
