The Cubs Are a True Embarrassment for Dropping Another Series to the Reds
By Jerry Trotta
For a division leader, the Chicago Cubs have been almost damn near impossible to figure out throughout the first three months of the season.
Joe Maddon's men are about as hot and cold as any team in the league and that proved true once again over the weekend where his Cubbies dropped yet another series to the lowly Cincinnati Reds, who currently sit at the bottom of the NL Central.
A record of 45-39 is nothing to brag about either, folks. Their lackluster month of June would look a whole lot worse if the Milwaukee Brewers weren't fumbling things themselves. In any other MLB division, Chicago would be roughly four games back of the division leaders.
Right now, their success is the product of an underperforming NL Central. But don't worry, we aren't afraid to highlight just how embarrassing botching three straight series against a team they're suppose to get fat on is.
It's simply inexcusable for a team that's supposed to have World Series aspirations. We demand more consistency before we can label the Cubs a true threat to the likes of the Dodgers and Braves in the National League.
