The Lakers Rebounded Like Absolute Beasts After Getting Screwed Out of Kawhi Leonard
By Parker White

The absolute worst-case scenario for the Los Angeles Lakers happened Saturday morning, as Kawhi Leonard decided to sign a max deal with someone else. But it wasn't just any team-- it was their intra-city rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers.
While that must have stung quite a bit, the Lakers rebounded nicely and used those funds to build up what is going to be a really, really good roster for 2019-20.
This sure looks like the strongest NBA team on paper right now.

PG: Rajon Rondo, Quinn Cook
SG: Danny Green, Troy Daniels
SF: LeBron James, KCP
PF: Anthony Davis, Kyle Kuzma
C: DeMarcus Cousins, JaVale McGee
They already brought in Anthony Davis via a trade with New Orleans, which is a massive win. Yes, a trio that included Kawhi Leonard would've been huge, but changing course and signing the likes of DeMarcus Cousins, Rajon Rondo, Danny Green and Quinn Cook is nice series of consolation prizes.
Huge blow to lose Kawhi, but the Lakers have done a damn good job assembling their team around LeBron/AD. Boogie could be revitalized and Green is huge. Great overall depth for them

The battle for LA is going to be unbelievable. I need the season to start NOW

They still have two all-world superstars, and now they have a ton more depth, which they wouldn't have been able to afford otherwise.
In the end, this Laker roster might end up being a better TEAM -- especially if Cousins is healthy -- than it would if Kawhi ended up in Laker purple.
