The Mets Have Hit Rock Bottom After Calling Urgent Team Meeting Before Game Against Braves
By Sean Facey

Expectations are usually pretty low for the Mets, but this is impressive even for them.
The Mets called a full-scale team meeting hours before their game against the Braves, proving that they've hit rock bottom.
The Mets have called a full-blown team meeting this afternoon -- not exactly standard operating procedure before a game. Appears to be a bigger roster shakeup than just Daniel Zamora, as well. The team has no reserves or bullpen arms listed on its clubhouse lineup card right now.

Very rarely does something of this magnitude happen. It seems to be in preparation for a slew of roster moves. The team's bench and bullpen weren't listed on the lineup card.
2019 has been disastrous for the Mets. After an offseason overhaul spearheaded by Brodie Van Wagenen, the Mets have floundered, posting a disappointing 34-38 record. Injuries and poor management have been their downfall.
In fact, leading up to the surprising meeting, the Mets announced that outfielder Brandon Nimmo is to be shut down from all baseball activities for the next month.
Mets have at least one roster move coming, and they have a team meeting today, which is not something that happens when things are going well.

With the team struggling to even get near a .500 record, perhaps a major meeting and roster shake up is exactly what they need. It might just energize the club.
For now, though, it looks like it's just another case of the Mets struggling to get things right in the face of even moderate expectations.
