The NFL Was Saved From Insufferable Patriots Fan Takes With Jimmy Garoppolo Losing Super Bowl to Chiefs
By Michael Luciano

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots might have missed out on the Super Bowl this time around, but most of the Northeast was united in support of former Patriots backup and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
Garoppolo threw two interceptions in a 31-20 loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, though. That's probably for the best, as we would have been bombarded with Patriots fans espousing how Tom Brady's knowledge is what actually helped mold Garoppolo into a champion.

If you think Patriots fans weren't going to retroactively claim Garoppolo's championship, you're being extremely naive.
Joe Burrow left Ohio State for LSU and won himself a national title, and Ohio State fans tried to take a great deal of credit for helping Burrow become a champion. That position was insufferable when Ohio State took it, and it would have become even more ridiculous if Patriots fans tried to claim Garoppolo's title as their own.
Frank Clark on Jimmy Garoppolo: “You paying the guy $140 million, $130 million, whatever he’s getting paid. He’s gotta throw the ball. Obviously he didn’t do that. They threw for about 200 yards on checkdowns; that ain’t enough to win a game against us.” pic.twitter.com/MNQs0GuiiX

Given how Garoppolo stunk up the joint in the fourth quarter, New England fans have been noticeably hard-pressed to heap any sort of praise on their former backup. If Mahomes didn't go supernova and will the Chiefs to a win, we'd have another offseason full of Patriots fans driving us nuts with Garoppolo takes.
