The Raptors Have Literally Never Lost a Game 5 and That's Amazing
By Adam Godfrey
The Toronto Raptors are on the verge of making history in the NBA Finals, as they currently hold a 3-1 series lead over the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors. The Raptors have never won an NBA Championship, and have a chance to win their first at home in Game 5 on Monday.
Toronto has a bit of history in Game 5s in the NBA Playoffs, too, and that history could favor them in their chase for that first-ever championship Monday night at home.
Toronto has never lost a single Game 5 in their franchise's' existence. Literally never even once; they are 8-0 all-time. The record gives the Raptors the most wins without a loss in Game 5s NBA history-- and they could improve on that record with a huge reward on the line this evening at Scotiabank Arena.
Kawhi Leonard's methodical, unflappable approach will be key to locking down Game 5 and keeping this very special streak alive. But don't be disappointed if he's totally unaware of it. He's just that kind of guy.
