The Saints Are Setting a Terrible Example by Even Working Out Antonio Brown

Just when it seemed like Antonio Brown's NFL career was dead and buried, he was thrown a lifeline by Sean Payton.

In preparation for a playoff run, the New Orleans Saints worked out Brown, doing their "due diligence," but sending all sorts of unpleasant signals in the process.

It's sad to see that acting like a reprehensible buffoon on and off the field doesn't seem to have quite enough consequences these days.

Brown was traded to the Oakland Raiders this past offseason after the Pittsburgh Steelers were finally fed up with his behavior. His conduct, both in the locker room and away from football, dogged by his lingering sexual assault case, eventually facilitated both his release from Oakland and the end of his tenure in New England after just one month.

In a league that held players accountable, Brown wouldn't even sniff game action until he can prove he has turned over a new leaf. With New Orleans considering bringing him in, Brown continues to show that if your talent outweighs your baggage, the league will keep giving you chances.

Brown has to be shown that his actions have consequences, and bouncing between four different organizations on talent alone is only going to keep enabling him. Hopefuly Payton and the Saints learn this lesson before they sign him.
