The Warriors Are Actually Setting Themselves up to Win Their Most Epic NBA Finals Yet
By Max Scoli

The Golden State Warriors currently trail the Toronto Raptors 2-1 in the NBA Finals, but do the Dubs have Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors right where they want them? Given the odds they've faced in the past, the question is worth asking.
Not our night.

For a team as dominant as these Warriors, winning an NBA Title this year in five games or fewer could feel a little redundant. So, why not add a little more excitement to their third consecutive championship... and win the series after going down 3-1?
Let's say the Raptors win the next game and go up 3-1...

And then let's say, the Warriors storm back and rattle off 3 straight wins and 3Peat?
Does that make the 3-1 jokes of old null and void?
The Warriors infamously blew a 3-1 lead to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 Finals, and that loss is surely still on the minds of guys like Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson during their frankest moments. Since then, of course, the team has added two star players in Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins, and could be gearing up to avenge all the memes that made fun of them three years ago in smashing fashion if they can accomplish this feat.
Steph Curry thinks he's the reason the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in 2016.

With Klay Thompson set to return from injury in Game 4 and Kevin Durant's status still up in the air, is this actually a possibility? You'd better believe it.
Golden State is the best team in basketball when Durant is on the floor. There is no doubt about it. Their five best players have 28 All-Star appearances among them, and at full strength, could man-handle this Raptors team. KD could very well come back with a 3-1 series staring him in the face. The setup would almost be too perfect.
The Warriors' starters now have 28 combined All-Star selections: Curry (6), Klay (5), KD (10), Green (3), Cousins (4).

The East starters combine for 17 All-Star nods: Giannis (3), Kawhi (3), Embiid (2), Kemba (3), Kyrie (6). The ENTIRE East team (with reserves!) combines for 34. pic.twitter.com/FvbZ7r4pJj
Is that the plan? I guess we will have to wait and see. But nothing could be more poetic for Steve Kerr's team.
