This Nationals Fan's Modified Bryce Harper Jersey is a New Level of Trolling
By Andy Loughmiller
The Washington Nationals have the opportunity to tie up the World Series and force a do-or-die Game 7 if they take care fo the Houston Astros in Game 6 tonight. Washington has been very successful this postseason without their former star and face of the franchise, Bryce Harper, and one Nationals fan took it upon himself to modify his old Harper jersey in an attempt to troll the six-time MLB All-Star for tonight's big contest.
Kudos to this guy for the one-of-a-kind getup. This is elite-level trolling at its finest. We are sure that plenty of fans share his belief that Harper's decision to leave Washington in free agency and ultimately miss out on a chance to play in the first World Series of his career is laugh-out-loud funny.
The laughing Harper jersey and the above tweet might not age very gracefully if the Nationals don't win Game 6. If they don't end the year as World Series champs, then that opens up the door for debate on whether or not being without Harper is really a good thing for Washington in the long run.
Harper was laughing all the way to the bank this offseason when he signed a 13-year, $330 million contract to play for the Philadelphia Phillies. He may still have the last laugh if the Nationals fall to the Astros tonight, but for now, this fan's doctored jersey is well-played.
