This New Era Phillies Cap With a Cheesesteak on the Back is the Hell We Deserve

When you think Philadelphia, your mind probably goes to belligerent fans who had too much to drink beating the crap out of one another. After that, 99% of you are thinking of either cheesesteaks or something to do with the American independence movement.

The folks at New Era decided to cram a Phillies hat with as many Philadelphia stereotypes as they could think of, squeezing the Liberty Bell and a cheesesteak onto this new hat style, but missing out on the drunken brawl element.

The Philadelphia 76ers also have a hat in the exact same style. Absolutely ghastly.

New Era released these hats as part of the "Team Describe" series, which features something related to the city on the front of the hat and a popular local food item on the back. In addition to the Philly hats, they have made versions for MLB and NBA teams in New York, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, and Los Angeles.

Boston has a Paul Revere statue and a lobster roll. Los Angeles has a palm tree and a taco. Chicago has the city's flag and a deep dish pizza. Each new design gets worse and worse.

The one saving grace is the Toronto hats, which feature the CN Tower and the phrase "The Six" on the back. Other than that, the rest of these need to be scrapped immediately.

We would accept the deep dish pizza icon independently, though.
