This Undrafted Free Agent is Guaranteed to Make the Browns
By Michael Luciano
Adding to an already solid offseason that saw Kevin Stefanski get Baker Mayfield a whole new offensive line by way of Jedrick Wills at left tackle and Jack Conklin at right tackle, the Cleveland Browns had one of the strongest undrafted free agent classes in the league, adding Shrine Bowl stud Kevin Davidson and former Charlotte running back Bennie LeMay.
The player with the best chance of sticking around, however, is South Carolina State offensive tackle Alex Taylor, who signed with the Browns after a stint at the Senior Bowl.
If an offensive line coach could create his perfect tackle, it would look like Taylor. A former power forward on the Bulldogs' basketball team, Taylor is 6-9 with an unreal 7-3 wingspan. While his physical tools and mobility allowed him to keep some of the best rushers at the Senior Bowl at bay, some of the more technically-refined pass rushers took advantage of his lack of great footwork and subpar anchor in pass protection.
If Cleveland stashes him on the practice squad and develops him, they could get someone with starter potential as an UDFA.
Taylor is as raw as sashimi, but guys with his wingspan, strength, and mobility all rolled into one don't come around often. Taylor is worth keeping on the Browns, as he is a high-ceiling backup who could spell Wills or Conklin if the need arises.
