VIDEO: Tigers Beat Southeastern University on Daniel Pinero Walk-Off Single

It took a full nine innings and a little bit of sweat, but the 2020 season managed to start on a high note for the Detroit Tigers. After heading into the ninth inning tied with Southeastern University at 4-4, third baseman Daniel Pinero sent the fans home happy with a walk-off single.

Twice the Tigers trailed their college opponents by two runs, but they managed to erase the deficit both times before finishing the job with a walk and two hits off of Southeastern pitcher Carlos Soto.
It might not count for the regular season, but it's always good to win the first game of the campaign, no matter who it's against.
