VIDEO: Tigers Fans Boo Jose Altuve in First Plate Appearance of Spring Training
By Mark Powell

Sure, the Detroit Tigers are likely to finish near the cellar of the AL Central by season's end, but for now every team is 0-0, and fans are treating Spring Training as such. In his first plate appearance of the spring, Jose Altuve received the treatment he ought to get used to by April. The former MVP was heavily booed in Lakeland, the Spring Training home of the Tigers.

Buzzers or not, Altuve remains one of the best baseball players in the world, meaning he's sure to let the disdain of opposing fans fuel him this coming season.
Altuve's teammate, Carlos Correa, claims the 2017 Most Valuable Player did not benefit from the sign-stealing scheme as much as the MLB investigation might indicate.

In a rarity for Altuve, he did not make the All-Star team in 2019, despite hitting .298 with 31 home runs to boot. Nonetheless, he'll have plenty to prove come 2020.
