Tigers Hilariously Troll Themselves After Blowout Loss to A's

Learning to poke fun at yourself can be a difficult thing to do, but man, does it produce some hilarious moments.

That's exactly what the Detroit Tigers did following their 17-3 blowout loss to the Oakland Athletics.

Truth be told, if I was a Tigers fan, I would much rather look at the dog than the final score of Thursday afternoon's massacre.

Oakland scored two or more runs in five separate innings including a six-spot in the third, and they scored in each of their final four trips to the plate.

The Tigers, who now sit nine games out of first place in the AL Central with an 18-24 record, have had a rough go of it lately. They've lost four consecutive games and have dropped seven of their last 10. In the last four losses combined, they've been outscored 41-12.

Detroit ranks in the bottom 10 in terms of both ERA and runs scored, so the slaughter was just a microcosm for how things have gone this season in the Motor City.

But considering that 2019 is a rebuilding year for Detroit, that makes the losses just a little more bearable.
