Tigers Tweet Depressing and Relatable Reaction to World Series Starting Without Them

Oh, back in the day, the Detroit Tigers used to be World Series stalwarts, kiddos.

And you don't have to go that far back, by any means.

Though the Motor City's last ring came in 1984, the kitties made the big dance in 2006 and 2012, but somehow fell in just nine total games between the two showdowns (an ugly five-game affair in '06 was followed by a sweep at the hands of San Francisco, despite entering a heavy favorite in '12).

But you know what's much worse than losing the Series? Coming nowhere close and losing 114 games in a season. So you'll forgive the Tigers for being pretty despondent as the Nationals and Astros prepare to face off.

Oh, Tigers. Don't watch Game 2 tomorrow, either. It only gets worse.

Justin Verlander will be out there.

Luckily for the Tigers, though, there's an easy solution here that could get this team back to the big stage.

Ahh, right! So easy!

Other fans, though, have very little of substance to offer, besides a shoulder to cry on.

We hope you find what you're looking for, @Tigers. But not this year. That's just not possible.
