Tim Anderson Trolls Royals Hard With Bat Flip Tweet Following Sweep
By Brian Cass
There's no love lost between Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson and the Kansas City Royals. After getting hit in the head with a pitch during Wednesday's game, KC hurler Glenn Sparkman, the guilty party, was promptly ejected from the game. The White Sox soon jumped out to a 7-1 lead.
The Royals fought back to tie it up in the eighth inning, but Anderson was able to seal the win with walk-off RBI double to complete a three-game sweep. And he had a singular, wordless message for the Royals following the game.
A picture (or an emoji can say 1,000 words), and we all know exactly what Anderson's feelings are right here given his sordid history with bat flips and the inevitable retaliations that follow.
The picture is from a White Sox-Royals game a month ago, where Anderson was again hit with a pitch following a vicious and amazing flourish.
This is the kind of stuff we love to see in baseball. It adds some fun to a sport that needs such an ejection every now and then.
Hopefully, this Anderson-versus-the-Royals rivalry continues throughout the season and gets even hotter. They still have plenty of games against one another, so it should be fun matchup to watch all summer long.
