Timeline of Warriors' Press Conference and Kevin Durant Surgery Announcement is Flat-Out Bizarre

Well this is peculiar.
On Tuesday, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr stated there was no update on Kevin Durant's injury during an interview, and that he thought there was no chance he could injure his Achilles by returning. However, 10 minutes later, Durant posted a photo on Instagram confirming his Achilles tear and successful surgery.

It's very possible that the Warriors simply wanted to let Durant update everyone on his own. Even still, it just seems as though there's even more miscommunication between Durant and the Warriors.

Whether they wanted to let Durant make the announcement, or whether they didn't know exactly what was going on yesterday, the whole thing is bizarre.
No one knows where Durant's head is at in terms of free agency, and there's no point in speculating if this is an indication of things to come. But when it comes to injury updates, something is amiss in Oakland and we'll likely never know the reason why.
