When an athlete tears their ACL, it usually means they are done for the year. Well, not for Tennessee Titans first-round pick Jeffery Simmons, who suffered the knee injury during pre-draft workouts.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Titans have activated the rookie defensive lineman from the non-football injury list.

Simmons returned to practice on Wednesday, and as you can imagine, the Titans are going to be very cautious with him as he works his way back.

"As the week went on, my technique got better," Simmons said after practice Friday. "I feel great. The good thing about it is I didn't have much swelling. I knew I had an injury, but I didn't go out there all timid. I went out there full force, and it felt great."

Simmons, who many believed to be a top draft prospect that would be taken in the top 10, fell to the Titans at 19th overall after he suffered the torn ACL in February.

Who knows when Simmons will be game ready, but him being activated and returning to practice is a huge step in the right direction.
