VIDEO: Titans Head Coach Mike Vrabel Getting Decked by Referee During Game vs Ravens is Wild
By Scott Rogust
The Tennessee Titans crushed the Super Bowl hopes and dreams of the Baltimore Ravens due to the utter dominance of running back Derrick Henry. Titans head coach Mike Vrabel has been impressive in his game-planning and decision-making through the first two rounds of the playoffs. Yet, he never could've seen this coming. During the AFC Divisional Round, Vrabel was absolutely decked by a referee running down the sideline.
Geez, that ref had to have a ton of momentum to get the 6-4 coach to fly out of camera view. Seriously, where's Vrabel's "get-back" coach?
If the ref was one of the 11 eligible players on the field, he'd no doubt be flagged for blindside blocking, resulting in 15 yards and an automatic first down. You can't even argue it.
Given the importance of that game, who can blame Vrabel for being focused on the play downfield, as they were on the verge of a massive upset.
Only one question remains: Can the Titans sign said official as a lead blocker for Henry next offseason (assuming the bring back the Alabama product, as well). If he can knock Vrabel off his feet, there's no telling what he could do to most NFL DLs and LBs.
