Titans QB Ryan Tannehill Voted NFL Comeback Player of the Year for 2019
By Jack Murphy

Ryan Tannehill's journey in the NFL has certainly been a unique one. The former first-round pick fizzled out under Adam Gase in Miami before landing back on his feet with the Titans. After taking over as the starter for Marcus Mariota, Tannehill turned Tennessee's season around.
Well, he's been rewarded for his work under center this year. The Titans' signal caller was announced as the 2019 NFL Comeback Player of the Year at the NFL Honors Award ceremony on Saturday night.

Tannehill led the Titans to a 7-3 record in the games he started which was good enough to win the AFC South. He also finished the 2019 campaign with 2,742 yards, 22 TDs and six picks. He also had the league's highest quarterback rating at 117.5
It was a close race between Tannehill and Jimmy Garoppolo, however Tannehill edged out the Niners gunslinger by a lone vote.

It seems that the Dolphins just did not understand how to utilize Tannehill's strengths, while the Titans capitalized on it, and appeared in an AFC Championship in the process.
