Tom Brady Calls Out Reports That Relationship With Josh McDaniels Led to Departure From New England

This NFL offseason has been filled with wild rumors. Yet, Tom Brady signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers still doesn't feel real.
Explanations were sought out as to why Brady would leave the New England Patriots. He framed it as another challenge in his career. NFL reporter Gary Myers suggested on Monday that a rift with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels played a critical role in TB12's departure.
Brady shut that down on Instagram soon after.

This entire story is based on one report from Myers. There were always rumblings of issues with McDaniels, but it was hard to believe the offensive coordinator would win out over the Hall-of-Fame quarterback in any power struggle. That is apparently what Myers was told.
Hard to present an order of why Tom Brady didn't want to return to Patriots. But one thing has been very much overlooked, according to an excellent source: His deteriorating relationship with OC Josh McDaniels. Tom was worn out by Josh after all these years. That surprised me.

Brady shutting this down suggests that the relationship between he and McDaniels is still strong after 19 years.
Instead of searching for an answer, Boston reporters and pundits alike should just accept what many find so hard to believe -- the Brady-Belichick relationship had run its course. All parties still respect one another, but it was time to move on.
