Tom Brady Contract Details After Agreeing to 2-Year Extension With Patriots
By Sam Dunn
Tom Brady is getting the bag. Again. And while he's still not getting paid quite like the richest of the rich quarterbacks in the NFL, he's not exactly a pauper, either. With news Sunday that the legendary gunslinger had agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with the New England Patriots, we now have a sense of what kind of dough TB12 will be making in 2019.
Tom Brady Contract Extension Details
That is a mammoth deal for a 42-year-old.
Yes, he won't crack the top five among QB salaries next season, but he's getting a nice $8 milion raise and will then be among the highest-paid in the league when 2020 and 2021 roll around.
Now under contract throught 2021 -- his age 44 season -- the six-time Super Bowl champ and three-time NFL MVP is fully locked in. But as Jason La Canfora notes, there is language in the contract that gives real latitude to both Brady and the Pats to abort before its full length is up.
$23 million for a season of Tom Brady feels like a steal, doesn't it? All told, New England fans ought to be smiling from ear to ear now that their GOAT is signing on the dotted line and officially running it back with the defending champs.
