Tom Brady Jersey Sales Since Joining Buccaneers Prove He Doesn't Need the Patriots in His Next Football Chapter
By Thomas Carannante
Time to TRIGGER New England, baby! After 20 years of sheer dominance, it's only right it all comes back around for the Patriots. And we can safely say it has at this juncture. Tom Brady is with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the defense continues to lose key player after key player.
A lot of the conversation about TB12 leaving the motherland has (and will continue to) focus on his ability to be successful without head coach Bill Belichick, and vice versa. Well, we can safely say Brady's popularity is doing just fine and he definitely doesn't need Belichick or the Pats to help promote himself.
Ohhhh boy, the influx of Brady Buccaneers jerseys is just going to blow a lid off the state of Massachusetts. Think they'll respond by clearing the shelves of Jarrett Stidham threads?
Whatever the case, we already have proof that Brady can exist outside of New England and still be massively popular. The Bucs have one of the smaller and less interactive fanbases across the NFL, but that's not stopping them from getting their Brady jersey to sport ahead of the 2020 season.
Sure, Brady was a staple in New England and the fanbase there helped his persona and brand explode, but the man has a household name, is a football legend before even retiring, and is involved with so many other things off the field that it's hard to not have his face omnipresent in your life whether you follow the team he's on or not.
TB12 took the support and fame he garnered in New England and ran with it. He's moving on and it's clear he doesn't need the Pats' base to succeed or be highly recognizable elsewhere.
