More New Englanders Buying Tom Brady Bucs Jerseys Than Floridians
By Jerry Trotta
Tom Brady's departure from the New England Patriots was obviously a sour pill to swallow for the Foxborough faithful. Across two decades, the 42-year-old legend delivered six Super Bowl titles and 17 AFC East crowns to the franchise.
Well, jersey sales prove that New England natives still love the man and things won't change. According to NESN, the states (in order) of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Maine have purchased more TB12 Buccaneers jerseys than Floridians.
Bothered Tampa Bay inhabitants will likely respond by saying that Florida has two NFL teams, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins, and therefore two fan bases to compete with. Meanwhile, Patriots supporters are predominantly spread throughout those aforementioned five states.
So what? We're taking about Tom freaking Brady here. You know, the most decorated quarterback of all time who is widely considered the GOAT football player. Floridians getting beat to punch by New Englanders is kind of embarrassing.
Brady will likely earn the No. 1 jersey sales in the NFL in 2020, and if Florida isn't leading that charge by the time the dust settles, well, it should be ashamed.
