VIDEO: Fans Are Convinced Tom Brady Was Facetiming Titans Coach Mike Vrabel at UNC-Syracuse Game
By Michael Luciano
Patriots fans finally gained some confidence that legendary quarterback Tom Brady could return to Foxborough next season, as he was spotted with wide receiver Julian Edelman at the UNC-Syracuse basketball game last night. Those fans probably don't want to see that Brady was on the phone with an NFL head coach that wasn't Bill Belichick, however -- Brady and Edelman were caught FaceTiming with a man who appears to be Tennessee Titans head coach and former Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel. It must be noted that Tennessee was thrown out as a potential free agent destination for Brady.
Brady and Vrabel have been friends for some time, going back to Vrabel's days as a linebacker during the first half of the Bill Belichick dynasty.
Vrabel is 2-0 against Brady as a coach, as he helped Marcus Mariota bludgeon the Patriots in 2018 before guiding Ryan Tannehill to a stunning playoff upset last season. With Tannehill also a free agent, Brady joining Tennessee as the starting quarterback could help the Titans maintain all the momentum they've picked up, and he could be that missing piece they need to join Kansas City and Baltimore at the top of the AFC.
If Brady has made up his mind on leaving New England, Tennessee would be able to provide him with a playoff-caliber roster from top to bottom, more weapons on offense than he had in New England, and a head coach Brady is friends with in Vrabel. The stars could be aligning for Brady to head down to Nashville, as much as that would be a painful reality for Pats fans.
