VIDEO: Tom Brady Roasts Tennessee During Peyton Manning Shot in 'The Match'
By Adam Weinrib
Anything to get an advantage, right? Two decades ago, Michigan-Tennessee would've been a heated battle on the football field, and the universities' two most distinguished QBs' jabs about their respective universities would've hit a little harder. These days, though, both squads are in the doldrums, and Tom Brady's rapier anti-Vols wit falls a little flat, considering Michigan doesn't exactly produce signal callers, either. Regardless, this little bit of trash talk felt good, as TB12 took aim at Tennessee's recent decades while Peyton Manning tried to concentrate.
Did the threat of stomping on his Vols-inspired head cover throw The Sheriff off his game? Unclear.
But Brady's got a valid point -- unless you love Josh Dobbs' pro prospects, it's like they forgot to import one key position to Knoxville in recent seasons.
The best QB in Tennessee since Manning might've been Tee Martin, who was actually good. Wonder if Brady forgot hi--nope, he was one of the Brady Six drafted before Tom in 2000. Brady never forgets that sextet.
