Tom Brady's 'Tom vs Time' Winning an Emmy Award is Completely Absurd
By Brian Cass
Are people getting sick of Tom Brady and his New England Patriots yet? We are. We're getting real tired of watching him hoist the Lombardi Trophy almost every season. But, it seems that we may be in the minority here.
After Brady's "Tom vs Time" Facebook reality series aired, the only thing that everyone seemed to take from it was the clip of him asking his son for a kiss. It was a bit strange, sure, but the documentary series was apparently good enough to earn a Sports Emmy. Yes, we're as confused as you are.
Tom Brady is the most recognizable face in the NFL, and one of the most recognizable in all of sports. The series receiving this kind of award isn't so deeply surprising in that regard, but come on, can we talk about someone else other than TB12 for just one offseason? That's all we ask.
His relentless-yet-humble persona makes it hard to hate him. Just stop winning championships and we're cool, Tom.
If the "Tom vs Time" formula does what it says it's going to do, Brady should still be around for another three or four years. That's not really ideal for NFL fans who want to see their teams reach the Super Bowl, but we're sure that the Patriots faithful wouldn't mind if Brady played until he was 50. Think of how many Emmy Awards he could rake in if he does.
