Tom Brady Signs Buccaneers Contract and Posts Instagram Message About Proving Himself All Over Again

The day football fans thought they would never see has finally come. Tom Brady officially ended his two-decade stint with the New England Patriots, opting instead for the aqua blue water of Tampa Bay. Brady signed a contract with the Buccaneers that will pay him $30 million annually. In his Instagram post confirming the signing, Brady called himself "excited, humble, and hungry" to start getting to work in his new home.
"[I]f there's one thing I have learned about football, it's that nobody cares what you did last year or th year before that... you earn the trust and respect of those around through your commitment every single day," he wrote on Instagram.
Brady threw for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns, and eight interceptions last season while completing 61% of his passes. Those numbers figure to increase next season considering he's joining a genuine quarterback whisperer in Bruce Arians. Throwing to wideouts like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin will give TB12 every chance to return to the elite level he's been at for most of his career.
After going 7-9 with Jameis Winston at quarterback last season, Tampa Bay figures to be a contendr for a playoff spot, as well as the NFC South crown, in 2020.
As wild as it still sounds, Brady will play next season with a pirate flag on the side of his helmet while wearing red, pewter, and black. Signing a 43-year-old quarterback is inherently risky, but Arians and GM Jason Licht deserve bunches of credit and praise for making this deal happen.
