Tom Brady Would Undoubtedly Tarnish His Legacy if He Signs With the Raiders
By Jerry Trotta
The rumors surrounding Tom Brady's potential destinations in free agency have been swirling in bunches thus far.
The Las Vegas Raiders are the latest team that's reportedly preparing a lucrative contract for the 42-year-old signal caller. What might seduce Brady from other potential suitors is the allure of the Raiders adding a second-year to their offer.
While TB12 would undoubtedly inject a dosage of electricity into the Raiders move out of Oakland, agreeing to play for Jon Gruden's side will significantly tarnish his historic legacy.
For starters, it would be a move that represents the polar opposite of what has penciled Brady into GOAT debates on sports talk shows throughout the country: winning.
Are the Raiders a playoff team with Brady as their quarterback? Probably. Are they Super Bowl contenders? With the likes of the Chiefs and Ravens holding serve in the AFC? Heck no.
Brady would literally be chasing money and the engrossing prospect of quarterbacking an NFL franchise in Vegas. That goes against everything we thought the six-time Super Bowl champ stood for. Further, Brady is reportedly clamoring for more offensive talent than what the Patriots currently have at their disposal. Outside of stud tight end Darren Waller, the Raiders have no receivers that stick out.
As much as the common football fan would love to see the New England Patriots dynasty crash and burn, we'd much rather Brady keep it standing firm with a return to Foxborough rather than him selling out and bolting for the Raiders.
