VIDEO: Tom Herman and Texas Bizarrely Celebrate Red Zone Interception in Alamo Bowl
By Mark Powell

Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns have had a rough season, but this is taking undeserved optimism to a new, depressing level. Sam Ehlinger threw a goal-line interception against Utah in the Alamo Bowl, and Herman and Co. responded not with disappointment, but with a strange level of unbridled joy.
Incredible INT by Utah DB Javelin Guidry

Texas was actually celebrating the INT because it came on 4th down, if it was incomplete Utah would get the ball at the 8 yard line but since it was an INT Utah has to start from the 1 yard line! pic.twitter.com/qwLmgQ6wgX
Herman celebrated because Ehlinger's pick gave Utah the ball at the 1 yard-line. Had the pass fallen incomplete, they would've taken over at the 8 yard-line. That seven-yard difference in field position is great on a designed punt, but on a play in which Texas had a chance to make an early statement, it remains disastrous.
