Tony Romo Reached Out to Help Daniel Jones With Jason Garrett's Offense

Say what you want about Jason Garrett’s time as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, but he has helped to conduct some of the most potent offenses in the league. Whether it was the three-headed monster that was Tony Romo, DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant or the more recent Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper, Garrett has coached talented offenses.

Garrett’s next endeavor will be working with head coach Joe Judge and the New York Giants as their offensive coordinator. This means help the young Daniel Jones take the next step in his progression as a second-year quarterback. While Jones is going to be working closely with Garrett, another familiar face will be helping Danny Dimes: Tony Romo himself.

The wins ultimately were not there in the Romo-Garrett connection. Romo was a solid starter when healthy. With Garrett as his offensive coordinator/head coach from 2007-2016, Romo led the league in passer rating, was named an All-Pro and was a three-time Pro Bowl selection. With his high football IQ, Romo will help Jones get a grasp of the Cowboys-esque offense from previous years.

While we do not know what the offensive scheme will look like physically just yet, some fans already have an idea of what the offense will sound like on a weekly basis.

Giants fans are hoping that Garrett can create another three-headed offense with Jones, Saquon Barkley and Darius Slayton. With Romo’s help, Jones just might take that next step on the field.
