After eight seasons in the National Football League, veteran wide receiver and two-time Super Bowl champion Torrey Smith has decided it's time to call it a career.

With the NFL season getting underway last weekend and Smith nowhere to be found on a team roster, the 30-year-old receiver revealed on Friday that he's played his last game. He was released by the Panthers just two weeks ago.

Though he was never known as a superstar in this league, Smith quietly put together an NFL career he can most certainly be proud of. He won Super Bowls with both the Baltimore Ravens (2013) and Philadelphia Eagles (2018).

All in all, the speedy outside receiver appeared in 119 games, catching 319 balls for 5,141 yards and 41 touchdowns. Best known as a speedy threat, Smith suited up for the Ravens, Eagles, 49ers and Panthers during his playing days.

Despite being 30, Smith decided now was the best time in his life to hang up his cleats. He'll be remembered on the gridiron for burning by defensive backs, while also handling himself with class and dignity off the field.
