Trae Young Takes Shot at Jimmy Butler on Twitter After Roasting Heat for 50 Points
By Jerry Trotta
Atlanta Hawks star point guard Trae Young isn't exactly in the position to talk smack to other players around the league. After all, his Hawks sit near the cellar of the NBA standings.
However, Young's otherworldly performance on Thursday night against the Miami Heat absolutely sanctioned such actions. The second-year pro out of Oklahoma dropped 50 points to spearhead a late Atlanta surge and victory.
After the upset dub, Young took aim at Jimmy Butler on Twitter to inform him that he kept the receipts from Miami's overtime win against the Hawks back in December.
The 21-year-old facilitator prematurely celebrated what he thought would be an Atlanta victory, only to see Butler lead a late Heat comeback win. Butler subsequently called Trae out in a pretty savage Instagram, referencing the former Sooner's ability to tell the future.
Butler's potential rebuttal could easily point out the fact that his Heat are an even 20 games head of Young's Hawks, but it would be more posh of him to let Ice Trae have his moment.
A 50-burger deserves its respect.
