Travis Kelce Missed Chiefs Practice Thursday With an Illness
By Scott Rogust
The Kansas City Chiefs have over a week to prepare for their Super Bowl LIV matchup against the San Francisco 49ers and are putting in work at practice this week. However, one big name was absent for Thursday's session.
According to James Palmer of NFL Network, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was a non-participant on Thursday due to an illness that has spread around the team.
That news alone would scare any Chiefs fan. But luckily, the team has more than a week before the big game, giving Kelce, and other players who have been dealing with the illness, ample time to recover.
In the regular season, the All-Pro tight end recorded 97 receptions for 1,229 yards and five touchdowns. Thus far through KC's playoff run, the 30-year-old has caught 13 passes for 164 yards and three scores.
While Kelce not participating in practice is a cause for concern, there's plenty of time for him to get over the bug and prepare himself for the Super Bowl. Let's just hope the team can keep the illness under wraps and prevent the rest of the squad from falling ill.
