Trent Dilfer Bizarrely Declares Tua Tagovailoa Better Than Dan Marino
By Andrew Gullotta

Let the pre-draft overreactions begin!
Former Super Bowl winning QB Trent Dilfer went public on Thursday with some strong opinions about former Alabama Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Speaking with the Washington Post, Dilfer said, "He (Tua) has a better arm than Dan Marino and Aaron Rodgers.”
The former Ravens QB went on to say, “He throws the football better than anyone throws the football. Whoever gets him wins the draft because you are getting a Hall of Fame player”

These are strong words about a player who hasn’t been drafted yet, or even really given a clean bill of health.
Tua looks like a complete prospect, he has great accuracy, footwork in the pocket, recognition of defenses, and is a leader on the field. However, his injury concerns are worrisome. Tagovailoa had surgery on his injured hip that he suffered in a win vs. Mississippi State. That injury and rehabilitation process have left his immediate NFL future uncertain -- he could be healthy Week 1, or he could be unavailable, with clouded prospects.
Another potential knock on Tua is his lack of poise inside the pocket, which is necessary in the NFL.
This is the problem for teams. It's still going to be a leap of faith for whoever takes him. All Tua & Co can do is show them everything looks as good as possible right now.

Tagovailoa is definitely a great prospect who has all the tools to be a star quarterback in the NFL, but lets not say he is already a sure-fire Hall of Famer. Gotta play the games first, Trent.
