Trent Williams officially ends his holdout with the 49ers
After getting things done with star wideout Brandon Aiyuk, the San Francisco 49ers have gotten things done with standout offensive tackle Trent Williams. The All-Pro left tackle was one of the last players still in a holdout, but that's no longer the case.
According to Ian Rapoport and other insiders, Williams has returned to the team facility after agreeing to terms on an adjusted contract. Now, Williams is back with the team leading up to the Week 1 showdown with the New York Jets:
This is massive news for the offense and quarterback Brock Purdy. Williams has been a monumental figure for this squad, playing a huge role in the success in recent seasons. He was unhappy with his contract, but after a little delay, things finally got done. This is a sizable win for SF ahead of the season-opener.
